Sport on our stretch of the Trent can be superb when conditions are right. A friend fished our Long Eaton section on 24 February 07 and landed barbel of 13 lb 8 oz (photographed) and 10 lb 6 oz, plus a 5 lb chub. He was also broken off by another big fish. He was the only angler fishing the stretch that day (fortunately a walker witnessed the catch and took the photograph)!
