For the past few weeks I have been running 'affordable open matches' every Thursday (at Higham Lane Lake currently). The matches are aimed mainly at retired and disabled anglers and have an 'all in' entry fee of £10 (which includes day permit and pools). I will continue to run these as long as I am able to get peg fees for around £3 - thus enabling £7 for pools, and expect to continue until the end of March, after which most fishery owners expect 'summer rates'.

If you wish to fish we meet around 8.30 am, and fish 9.45 am to 3.15 pm. Phone me on 07749 284 823 by 9pm each Wednesday to confirm venue and book a peg.

I am still running the Thursday affordables (every Thursday except the third of the month when I fish the Boddington Bag-up League). I have moved venue to Makins, alternating between phases 2 and 3. Entry on the day is £11 (£6 of which is pools). A phone call to confirm attendance appreciated (or book in week to week). Draw 8.45am, fish to 3.30pm.

I am still running these matches, at BW Makins, every Thursday, for anyone interested. I alternate between Phases 2 and 3 (except in adverse conditions when I may pick one of the big lakes on Phase 1). Draw in appropriate car park at 8.45am, fish from 10 am. £11 all in (£7 of this pools to end of March). To book in phone me on 07747 284 823 or just turn up by 8.45 am.

To update the previous message, I still run 'Thursday Affordables'. The matches are now all run at Makins Fishery and are £11 'all in', £6 of which is pools. I generally alternate weekly between Phases 2 and 3, but for added interest will use Lake 5 (Phase 1) on the second Thursday of each month.

Sport has generally been excellent this year, with a top weight of 176 lb 6 oz recorded from Reptile peg 12 (phase 2) in late July, a new fishery record for Phase 2.

For all matches, draw (in appropriate car park) from 8.45 am to 9 am, start fishing at 10 am.
