Cranfleet Canal has a past reputation for excellent sport during flood water conditions. Members will be pleased to hear that this is not just a reputation, and excellent sport may still be enjoyed.

When ever the Trent is flooded (and the top gates to the Cranfleet are locked), anglers report good recent sport.

Catches include good perch, roach, bream (and skimmers), and the odd tench. Several anglers have been 'broken off' by suspected carp. Pike are also showing.

Conditions bad and you don't know where to go - give the Cranfleet a try! (Let me know what you catch - john@levas.co.uk)
