Two years running the pond has flooded leaving the permanent pegs totaly submerged
As the water never dropped below peg level last year, are there any plans to install new or raised pegs ? Or is it to be another year of wellies and makeshift muddy pegs

Having recently received confirmation that the raised water levels are likely to be the norm at Grange, our Committee have been seeking ways to resolve the issue. A wide range of options are under consideration.
Our General Secretary is currently negotiating a proposed project (one of the favoured options) to permanently raise peg levels. This will ensure members are both safe and dry throughout the coming year. I will try to keep you informed of developments - and once the project is confirmed this will be covered in our news pages. _________________ John |

Just to inform you that last weekend there were pumps operating at Grange Pond to reduce water levels to just below the pegs. By monitoring levels now we will be able to assess the extent of the ptoblem and how best to tackle it.
If levels remain steady it will indicate that sediment entering Grange has sealed it (like a pond liner). The options could then be either to rebuild the pegs at a higher level (i.e. at sluice level), or seek to pump out excess water every time the lake fills.
If levels rise it will indicate a change to water tables and the only option could be building the pegs up to higher levels.
