...In case you hadn't guessed, i love Pike fishing.
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the best club waters/methods/tactics to tempt old esox on into the net.
Fished Grange a couple of week ago, blanked but as at least 10 people told me ..."a 24 pounder came out of her last week, plus another lowish 20..." just what you need when you haven't had a knock all day lol.
Going back tomorrow anyway so i'll let you know how i get on.
Fished the horseshoe at Kegworth last week in -2 andwith snow on the ground, had nothing but a 3-4lb jack, but big or small, i love em all! _________________ Cheers,

Well i fished GP from dawn until dusk on Saturday, tried every type of dead bait i had, tried addatives and oils, pooped up and on the deck and not even a knock.
The day was saved by a 3-4lb jack which found my Fox micro jerk too much to resist, just as the light was fading.
Who says lure fishing is a summer sport! _________________ Cheers,

I recently moved into the area and joined the club at the weekend having decided that there was no point in waiting until next season - membership costs less than three or four day-tickets on most waters.
I asked at Bridge Tackle on Saturday when I joined where I might try for some piking and found myself talking to the membership secretary, Mr. Richardson (sorry - didn't get the first name). Anyway, the general view in the shop was that I should give the Soar at Kegworth a shot, so on Sunday I did. I caught one fish of around 5 pounds and lost two others, one of them a definite double that came off at the net. There was quite a bit of action fishing up tight to the narrowboats on the opposite bank Leigh, although I didn’t have any joy with the lures. I'll be down there again next weekend. It’s definitely worth a look. _________________ Mmmmm! The smell of maggots.... |
