I moved into the region about two years ago and have had a lot of angling fun, particularly returning to the pleasures of river fishing. Previously I lived in Essex and while the rivers were nowhere near as exciting there, there were a lot more high quality carp lakes - some day ticket and some club owned. I have to admit I miss them a bit from time to time, yet despite a lot of enquiries I've not found much to compare with them. I have a ticket for Fletchers but so far haven't had any joy there and certainly I'd like to find other alternatives.
Can anyone recomend anywhere in the region? I do much prefer rural settings to commercial complexes and when the weather is good I enjoy the odd overnight session. _________________ Mmmmm! The smell of maggots.... |

Hi,
There are 2 local clubs which provide reasonable carp fishing, Pride of Derby www.prideofderby.co.uk and Derby Railway www.drac.org.uk.
Both have some good lakes plus stretches of the Trent where carp are common (or mirror )! Don't forget the LEVAS stretch at Thrumpton, which can produce some good fish! _________________ Cheers,
Leigh

Thanls Leigh. I'll take a drive and have a look at some of their waters. _________________ Mmmmm! The smell of maggots.... |
