I was at the Grange Pond on Saturday. It's heartbreaking to see what the herons are doing to the newly stocked carp. I saw three or four dead fish float by, all skewered, and I even took one off a heron on the bank. It was still alive but in a pool of blood and clearly dying. The bird was pecking at it, but it was too big for it to eat. There were several birds around. I've no idea what the club can do to manage the problem but the way they are going they'll have killed the lot in a few weeks.

Oh, and I didn't catch a lot either!

Thanks for raising the subject. I have alerted several club officials who will give thought to the problem. (they are currently seeking advice on how best to deal with the problem).

At present request all visitors to the pond make every attempt to frighten the ba****ds away. Club Bailiffs will do everything they can in this area.

I should also have mentioned that LEVAS Officers have sought advice from experts on how to deal with this problem.
