The club's second Championship match of the season was a 26 peg sell out.  Such is the demand this season that several unlucky anglers left booking in too late and all available pegs were taken.

On a dull and overcast day with a gusty west wind, when it remained warm and dry throughout, the carp and F1 hybrids refused to co-operate, and although the venue fished consistently from end to end, the large hoped for catches failed to materialise, and the successful anglers 'scratched' their way to respectable weights.

The one angler able to tempt several F1s into feeding was Stuart Haggar on peg 10.  Stuart took a few fish near the far side before switching entirely to his margin swims, where he then took fish in short bursts from both left and right on pole presented meat, for a comfortable win with 17 lb 8 oz.

Further along the bank, John Adamson (peg 16) and Dave Cotterill (peg 17) had another epic battle, going fish for fish throughout the match.  John fished maggot over pellet feed at 11m to take roach, small carp, tench, bream, perch and F1s, whilst Dave alternated between 11m and the far bank (14m) with corn and pellet for his mainly carp, roach and chub catch.  John ended with 14 lb 4 oz for second place, just edging out Dave's 14 lb.

Paul Marriott was fourth with 13 lb 8 oz, with Brian Leafe and Malc Munn joint fifth with 12 lb each.
