The second of the National Practice Open matches staged on the Tamworth Road, Long Eaton, stretch of the Erewash Canal was once again a great success, with the 40 strong field averaging 4 lb 3 oz per angler.

Top weight was taken by LEVAS clubman Dave Mayo (peg 1) with 18 lb 6 oz.  The other leading weights were: S Alison (peg 2) 13 lb 10 oz; Gordon Ashcroft, Tri-Cast Calder, (peg 4) 9 lb 3 oz; P Johanson (peg 20) 9 lb 2 oz, A Bedford (peg 3) 6 lb 8 oz;  D Guest (peg 41) 6 lb 0 oz 8 dm.
