Grange Monday Sweep 26 June 2006 | Print |

Another good turnout with 15 competitors lining the bank on a very pleasant evening, warm, overcast and with a little light drizzle, and once again fish were caught all round the lake, with the island pegs failing to produce much at all.  Most of the anglers caught carp or tench, and for some the roach posed a real nuisance, showing that last winter the cormorants took less of these than many thought.

Once again it was Mark Saunders taking the honours with a 6 carp catch on the feeder (about 25 yds out) from peg 13, although he was pushed close by Jim Meakin (peg 11) who fished similarly for a 3 carp and 3 skimmer catch weighing 21 lbs.

June Lowe found another 12 lb pole caught carp, which along with a few small roach helped her to 12 lb 4 oz and third place, with Simon Harper taking one carp and one skimmer from peg 18 for fourth.  Bill Peach's 2 carp catch from peg 7 on the feeder gave him fifth spot.
