Although attendance for the Monday sweep had dropped to 11 in the hot weather, sport was consitently good from all areas of the lake with the top 4 anglers all fishing different banks.
Peg 20 is turning into one of the more consistent pegs this year, and Jim Meakin certainly enjoyed an excellent evenings sport as he fished pellet, shallow on waggler, for a fine 9 carp catch totalling 43 lb. Jim included a common carp of 11 lb 8 oz in his winning haul.
In contrast, Dave Mayo (peg 28) fished the whole match with bread on the surface. This tempted 7 carp for a total of 32 lb for second place. Mark Saunders (peg 11) stuck to his favoured method feeder for a five carp catch weighing 19 lb and third, while his travelling partner Paul (peg 3) fished similarly for 3 carp weighing 15 lb anf fourth. Fifth place went to John Adamson (peg 4) with a pole caught 12 lb 8 oz, a tench from the margin on corn plus a tench and a carp on meat at 10m.
