With the weather reverting to wind and rain, there was still another very good turn out for the Monday evening sweep at Grange Pond, although the fish, in general, failed to co-operate.
After deciding to give his own nets a night off (leaving both keepnet and landing net at home), Mark Saunders ensured that his borrowed equipment gained far more use than in recent weeks by the rightful owners. After again drawing peg 3, Mark caught 6 carp during the evening (two of the small black ones plus four others) on his favourite 'method feeder' at about 20m range for another easy win on the venue with 24 lb 8 oz.
Bill Peach celebrated not drawing peg 7 (although he got part of the number correct by drawing peg 27) by taking second place with a mixed bag (1 carp, 1 bream and one tench - the latter of which pulled in his rod on the bite) on method feeder for a total of 8 lb, which put him well clear of third placed Dave Mayo whose tench and skimmer double from peg 22 totalled 5 lb 4 oz.
S Leadley's single 3 lb carp from peg 23 took fourth, with June Lowe fifth from peg 16 with 1 lb 4 oz of pole caught small roach and perch.
