Pegs Repaired at Trent Lock on The Erewash Canal | Print |

Members and day permit anglers alike will be pleased to hear that British Waterways have repaired the permenant pegs at the Trent Lock end of the Erewash Canal, from the stone footbridge, down to just above the moorings above the lock (numbers 110 to 124).

They have done an excellent job and by making good the bank, lifting and re-setting the concrete slabs, they have re-created these very safe and comfortable fishing positions on what was known as one of the most prolific stretches of the canal.

Now it is once again safe and comfortable to fish, hopefully anglers will return to the bank in numbers.  Once fish get used to regular feeding it is likely that these pegs will again produce excellent sport, and hopefully some good specimens as well.

Just a quick reminder - anglers must fish only from marked pegs.  On most of the LEVAS controlled canal, these are spaced at 20m.  No fishing allowed between pegs.  This disturbs bankside vegetation and wildlife, as well as spoiling sport for anglers at the next peg.
