MATCHES CANCELLED AT FLOODED GRANGE POND, SUMMER 2007 | Print |

From the end of June until the 23 July, the Monday evening matches sceduled for Grange Pond had been cancelled due to dangerously high water levels.

Since rivers rose in early June, the water level at Grange has been above the level of most of the made up pegs, and in fact, much of the time these have been completely inaccessible.

As there was no guarantee that everyone wishing to fish could be adequately positioned, matches have been cancelled.  In view of the long term weather reports for the next two weeks it is unlikely that the remaining matches will be fished this summer.

Although access to the lake has been difficult (and at times dangerous), during settled conditions, fishing is possible as long as care is taken when selecting  fishing position, although members do so at their own risk.

A further report will be added to this site when water levels fall to reasonable levels.
