Club Championship match 10, also for the Tapper's Shield, was staged on the club controlled reach of the River Soar at Kegworth. Although the river was low and very clear, the match was very closely fought with everyone catching over 3 lb of fish.
Winner, from the top end of the 'Horseshoe', was Bill Sowerbutts with 5 lb 11 oz. Bill fished waggler towards a far bank overhanging tree, feeding and baiting with maggot, to take mainly small chub in his mixed bag, with the first two hours proving to be most productive.
Runner up Dave Kent was pegged one from the bottom of the 'Horseshoe' for his 5 lb 9 oz pole caught catch taken on bronze maggot. Although Dave had mainly small fish he included a couple of decent perch.
Paul Richardson, fishing below the bend and opposite the boats took third place 5 lb 7 oz to regain the Championship lead, with John James in fourth with 4 lb 11 oz from the bridge peg, and Malc Munn taking fifth with 4 lb 8 dm from the corner opposite the boats.
