Match 11: K SMITH CUP, GRANGE POND (16 September 2007) | Print |

With water levels at Grange Pond still uncomfortably high (and quite clear), attendance was very low with only 4 members fishing (and having a bank each).

After a fishless first hour, Paul Richardson (peg 12) switched from method feeder to short pole for roach, and, feeding hemp and tares with tares on the hook,he caught fish steadily for the remainder of the match, in spite of several pike strikes, to put 7 lb 4 oz, all roach, on the scales for his fifth club win of the season.  This further secures his lead at the top of the Championship.

On peg 21, Dave Kent fished pole with sweetcorn for a tench, a carp and siz roach for 6 lb 12 oz and runner up spot, with Stef Fedyszyn (peg 27) fishing similar tactics for a single bream weighing 2 lb 2 oz for third place.  John Adamson fished method feeder throughout from peg 4 and was completely uninterupted by fish of any description, to take last place.
