On a still, damp and dull day, Championship match 13 (for the W Hardy Memorial Trophy) on the Arena Pool at Cudmore, produced an interesting match.  Competitors had to chose between fishing for big carp or 'silvers',( barbel, chub, bream, tench and roach).  Those fishing for carp won the day, taking the top four places.

Fishing peg 9 with method feeder baited with red maggot, Don Radmore landed several good carp (best weighing 15 lb 6 oz) and a couple of bream for a winning total of 53 lb 12 oz.

On the opposite side of the lake, John Adamson fished similarly, but baited with pellet. John's 6 carp catch, including one of 16 lb 5 oz, gave him 47 lb 10 oz for second place.  Guest angler, Tim Forrester (peg 29) took third with 41 lb, consisting of several barbel as well as carp, also on the method feeder, the same method employed by Brian Leafe (peg 27), in fourth spot with 34 lb 12 oz.  Dave Kent fifth (peg 1) fished pole for his 32 lb 6 oz for fifth, which included one big carp.
