The Senior Section fished match 3 for the H Mountney Memorial Trophy on Lake 4 at BW Makins (Phase 1). In spite of the heavy rain and strong wind for most of the match, some superb sport was enjoyed all round the lake.
Jamie Adcock, on island peg 26, hooked carp within seconds of casting out at the start of the match. In spite of losing the first three in his first three casts he continued to catch on method feeder throughout until sport slowed during the last hour. However, his 137 lb 4 oz proved easily to be enough for top spot.
Opposite Jamie on peg 6, Andrew Williams (also fishing the method feeder baited with pellet during the early part of the match) also caught immediately. He then had a quiet spell before finding the fish again in open water, where he caught intil the last hour. Towards the end of the match Andrew caught several big fish from the margins on pole and paste to end with 112 lb 12 oz for second place. This edged out John Adamson (peg 10) who fished method feeder into open water throughout, baiting with sweet corn. After only a small skimmer in the first 90 minutes, the carp moved in and he caught in small bursts to end the match with 109 lb 6 oz for third place.
Stef Fedyszyn was fourth with 67 lb 6 oz from peg 20, with Dave Kent fifth with 65 lb from peg 4.
