Chub - Leuciscus Cephalus

Chub in many ways looks like a dace at first glance, both having black tails and grey or green backs. Chub however, usually have a brassy coloured flanks with a orange anal fin and big mouths. They also grow much larger than dace. Also the dorsal fins are concex (arched) while those of the dace are slightly concave (indented)
Tips

  • Try baits such as:

    1. Worms
    2. Casters
    3. Cheese
    4. Bread
    5. Hemp
    6. Tares

  • Chub can be found in most low land rivers, canals, brooks and streams.
  • Fish the oppersite bank, under over hanging trees.
  • Try not to spook the fish by casting into them, cast up stream from them
